Ginsberg Lab Publishes in Acta Neuropathologica Communications
First Author Melissa Alldred and corresponding author Stephen Ginsberg, along with Ginsberg Lab members, published their research in Acta Neuropathologica Communications. The article which appears in the November 27, 2024 edition is titled “Down syndrome frontal cortex layer III and layer V pyramidal neurons exhibit lamina specific degeneration in aged individuals.”
The study findings indicate that trisomy differentially affects a subpopulation of unique/differentially expressed genes in prefrontal cortex Brodmann area 9 layer III and layer V projection neurons in aged individuals with Down Syndrome (DS), which may inform circuit specific pathogenesis underlying DS and AD.
