Ginsberg Lab Publishes Digital Spatial Profiling Protocol in J Neuroscience Methods
First author Aleksandra Stanisavljevic, along with members of the Ginsberg and Nixon Labs publish the protocol, titled “Profiling lamina specific pyramidal neurons using postmortem human formalin fixed paraffin embedded frontal cortex tissue in combination with digital spatial profiling,” in the J Neuroscience Methods. This new approach significantly reduces the amount of formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue needed for robust single population RNA-seq and enables profiling small groups of ∼14-21 pyramidal neurons using the GeoMx DSP platform. The optimized DSP assay provides high resolution RNA-seq data demonstrating utility and versatility of the GeoMx platform for individually characterized neurons and isolated cortical ribbons within postmortem formalin fixed paraffin embedded human brain tissue for downstream analyses.
