Lisgaras and Scharfman Publish in Progress in Neurobiology
CDR members Drs. Christos Lisgaras and Helen Scharfman recently published an article titled, “Opposing interictal dynamics in Alzheimer’s disease and epilepsy,” featured in the January 26 edition of Progress in Neurobiology. Their research uncovers a novel dissociation between clinically-relevant EEG biomarkers in AD and epilepsy. The researchers emphasize the need for wideband EEG/MEG, particularly in AD, to assess the full extent of hyperexcitability and biomarker interactions that would otherwise remain undetected.
