Cure Alzheimer’s Fund Awards Grant to Lisgaras and Osorio
Cure Alzheimer’s Fund has awarded a grant to Christos Lisgaras from the CDR and Ricardo Osorio from NKI’s Clinical Research for their study, “Sleep Epileptiform Activity and High-Frequency Oscillations as Early Biomarkers of Alzheimer’s Disease.” The Lisgaras and Osorio laboratories are leveraging sleep EEG data to investigate whether alterations in neural activity correlate with the earliest manifestations of AD. Their core hypothesis centers on the idea that by pinpointing distinctive brain activity patterns linked to AD progression, clinicians can implement precision-targeted treatments using existing FDA-approved medications designed to restore normal brain function.
