Ginsberg Lab Members Publish in FASEB

Lead authors, Drs. Melissa Alldred and Stephen Ginsberg, along with Harshitha Pidikiti, recently published their research in an article titled, “Basal forebrain cholinergic neurons are vulnerable in a mouse model of Down syndrome and their molecular fingerprint is rescued by maternal choline supplementation.”  The research, which propose maternal choline supplementation (MCS) ameliorates aberrant BFCN gene expression within the septohippocampal circuit of trisomic mice through normalization of principally the cholinergic, glutamatergic, and GABAergic signaling pathways, resulting in attenuation of underlying neurological disease functions, appears in the June 2023 issue of FASEB Journal, the official publication of the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology.
